Atom Tickets raises $60 million from Fidelity, Disney, Fox

Atom Tickets said it has raised more than $60 million in new capital that will allow it to further expand its movie ticketing app. The financing was led by global asset management firm Fidelity Management & Research Co. and comes less than two years after Atom raised $50 million in a Series B funding round led by Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF.A, LGF.B), Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS) and Twentieth Century Fox Film, which all participated again in the latest round. Following a nationwide rollout of its platform in 2016, Atom said it tripled its users and ticket sales in one year and is integrated into tens of thousands of movie screens across North America. The Atom app allows moviegoers to buy tickets in advance, invite friends, pick seats, order concessions and bypass lines at the theater.
